The Comme des Garcons Black Shop arrived at Dover Street Market London today, who will be the only shop in the world carrying the range, aside from the Tokyo store. For the occasion three custom giant 210cm (6.8 feet) tall Bearbricks have been created and stand proud in the windows of Dover Street Market as of today. The CdG Black Shop will be inside DSM for three month.

Of course they also received the Comme des Garcons Black Collection, a range created in collaboration with Medicom. The range includes t-shirts, hoodies and Bearbrick metal jewelry.

Colette x Selby…

…Pop-Up Shop

todd-selby-x-colette-6

For his first French exhibit, photographer Todd Selby and Colette have collaborated to do a Selby Pop-up shop inside Collette. Todd Selby has taken over the walls of the Colette shop with his images and curated the Selby Space.  He has produced a book of his photos specifically for this exhibit. We have been following his blog, The Selby,  for awhile now and it is always super intriguing to enter into someones home from a bird’s eye view and see the scene. The space he has created inside Colette definitely carries the same charm and intrigue that his blog projects. This is a great collab on Colette’s part!

3,000 mason jar lids…

HANGING FROM THE CEILING…

The ceiling and wall displays are great.  They bring up a lot of childhood memories of my Grandfathers wood shop.  When I was young I remember he always saved all his empty jars (no plastic back then, only glass) and he would screw the lids to the ceiling then fill each jar with random elements (mainly nails, screws, washers, etc.)  I loved working with him in the shop and looking up at the full jars and wondering how many pieces were in each one…

Since then I have always wanted to replicate it in some on in one of our designs.  Maybe on day…

SP Architects designed this “Slow Food Pavilion” - the Pickles & Chutney Pavilion uses elements used in pickling, hanging over 3,000 mason jar lids from the ceiling, with the jars lining the walls, filled with recipes and pictures of pickles from around the world.
