peter waltz + thomas forsyth

This wall fixture from designer Peter Waltz puts a whole new spin on the idea of leaving the light on at home.  I love the shadows this light casts, and the way it reminds me of the little tiny town in Beetlejuice.  In a good way.  I want to stack a whole bunch of these on a table in my attic and see if something starts driving little cars through town.  Can you tell that ac and his friends kept me up all night playing left 4 dead?  I need some sleep.  And time away from boys wearing headsets while shooting pretend zombies.

In non-zombie related news, I’m also enjoying these drawing tops from designer Thomas Forsyth.  I love the effortlessness with which you can create something original and beautiful.  Just plug in pen and go. Click here for more information and click ‘play’ below to watch it in action. thanks, thomas!

pierre kracht

 wraps it up…

German Artist Pierre Kracht’s Wrapped series was shown at the Transversale 2009 show in Germany last month as a part of the “Surface” exhibition. Transversale is a show that unveils the boundaries where art meets design and design meets art. In Kracht’s work he poses a question of the relevance of material through time. By wrapping these objects into cocooned silhouettes he is attempting to make them disappear, it is his metaphor for the tangible world which fills our lives.
