Sergio Silva is an Industrial Designer based in Brooklyn, NY. He studied Industrial Design at Pratt Institute and while there discovered an affinity for 3D studies. He has since been involved in Pratt’s International 3D Design Workshops.
His work has been showcased in design exhibits including the Noguchi Museum, New York, and Art Basel, Miami; and published in American Craft Magazine and various international design publications.
Having previously worked as a machinist, he brings knowledge of materials and fabrication methods to the design process. He has worked with such companies as Humanscale, TZ Design, Cuisinart, and Gerald Gulotta Design Inc.

This concept stemmed from the challenge of creating a new language for an ancient game in which hierarchy is utterly important. Classic proportions, simplicity of rectangles and circles, and contemporary materials encourage an intuitive literacy that is independent of traditional symbols. Thus, along with the strategic nature of the game, the player is engaged in an elegant visual exercise.

President Obama unveiled new logos designed by Mode Project. Creative director Steve Juras led designers Aaron Draplin and Chris Glass in the assignment to create two logos, one for projects completed under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), and the second for the U.S. Department of Transportation’s TIGER (Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery) team.
I do think Obama’s campaign was and still is great. I do appreciate how he puts emphasis on good design. However I’m afraid he’s going overboard.

I love the way Spanish designer/illustrator, Borja Bonaque portrays urban landscapes ~ they have a certain retro futuristic glow to them ~ and feel so fun on skateboard decks as well! The water towers are adorable. I’ve had her images open in tabs all weekend, kept getting too distracted by them to actually get this post up until now!
